Product Information
Eco Deco Australia makes reasonable efforts to ensure that product descriptions, specifications, measurements and images are accurate.
However:
- Colours may appear different due to photography, lighting and screen settings
- Decorative patterns may vary between panels
- Grain, marble, stone and texture placement may vary
- Products from different batches may have variations
- Dimensions may be subject to reasonable manufacturing tolerances
- Lifestyle images may be digitally created or enhanced
- Furniture, fixtures, décor and accessories shown in images are not included unless expressly stated
Product images are for illustration purposes only.
Customers should inspect available samples or physical products where colour, pattern or finish is particularly important.
Measurements
Customers are responsible for ensuring that all measurements are correct before ordering.
Measurements should be checked at the installation site by the customer or installer.
Customers should not rely solely on:
- Building plans
- Previous measurements
- Estimated room dimensions
- Website product calculators
- Measurements supplied by another person
The installer should confirm the final dimensions and required quantity before the order is placed.
Product Calculators
Any wall-panel, tile, box or coverage calculator provided by Eco Deco Australia is a general estimating tool only.
Calculator results depend on the measurements and information entered by the customer.
Calculators may not account for:
- Cutting waste
- Pattern positioning
- Corners
- Doorways
- Windows
- Columns
- Niches
- Unusual wall shapes
- Damaged sections
- Installation errors
- Future repairs
- Installer preferences
- Batch matching
- Additional material needed around fixtures or penetrations
Customers should confirm calculator results with their installer before ordering.
Material Allowance
Customers should order enough material to complete the entire project, including a reasonable allowance for:
- Cutting
- Trimming
- Pattern selection
- Corners and openings
- Installation errors
- Accidental damage
- Future repairs
- Batch matching
Eco Deco Australia cannot guarantee that the same design, colour, finish or production batch will remain available for later purchases.
Products purchased at different times may have visible batch variations.
Inspection Before Installation
All products must be inspected before installation.
Before cutting, drilling, gluing or modifying the product, check:
- The product code
- Design
- Colour
- Finish
- Dimensions
- Quantity
- Packaging
- Visible damage
- Pattern variation
- Surface quality
- Required trims and accessories
Several panels should be unpacked and compared before installation.
Do not install products that appear:
- Damaged
- Defective
- Incorrect
- Wet
- Distorted
- Contaminated
- Unsuitable for the intended application
Contact Eco Deco Australia before cutting or installing an affected product.
Colour and Pattern Layout
Decorative panels may intentionally contain variations in:
- Grain
- Marble veining
- Stone pattern
- Shade
- Texture
- Sheen
- Embossing
Panels should be arranged before installation so the installer can determine the preferred sequence and appearance.
Patterns may not form one continuous image from panel to panel unless the product is specifically described as having a continuous or book-matched pattern.
Customers should not assume that every adjoining panel will have identical or continuous pattern alignment.
Substrate Preparation
The substrate must be suitable for the product and installation method.
Before installation, the substrate should be:
- Structurally sound
- Stable
- Clean
- Dry
- Level or appropriately prepared
- Free from dust
- Free from grease
- Free from loose paint or material
- Free from mould or contamination
- Compatible with the selected adhesive
- Properly waterproofed where required
Uneven, unstable or unsuitable substrates may cause:
- Movement
- Lifting
- Gaps
- Uneven joints
- Adhesive failure
- Visible surface imperfections
- Water entering behind the panels
The customer and installer are responsible for assessing and preparing the substrate.
Installing Over Existing Tiles
Products may be installed over existing tiles only where:
- The tiles are securely attached
- The surface is stable
- The surface is properly cleaned
- Loose, cracked or hollow tiles are repaired or removed
- The selected adhesive is suitable for both surfaces
- Existing waterproofing remains suitable
- The installation complies with applicable requirements
Installation over existing tiles does not guarantee that the underlying wall or waterproofing system is compliant or undamaged.
The installer must assess the existing surface before proceeding.
Wet-Area Installation
In bathrooms, showers, laundries and other wet areas, a compliant waterproofing system may be required underneath or behind the panels.
Panels described as waterproof protect the panel material from water under intended conditions. They do not, by themselves, make the entire wall or room waterproof.
Wet-area installations must address:
- Substrate preparation
- Waterproofing
- Internal and external corners
- Panel joints
- Edges
- Penetrations
- Shower fittings
- Taps and plumbing fixtures
- Baths and vanities
- Floor-to-wall transitions
- Ceiling transitions
- Suitable sealants
- Drainage and ventilation
Waterproofing and installation must comply with applicable building requirements and manufacturer instructions.
A suitably qualified or licensed trade must be used where required by law.
Adhesives
Only use an adhesive that is suitable for:
- The wall-panel material
- The substrate
- The installation environment
- Wet or dry conditions
- The expected temperature range
- The size and weight of the panel
Follow the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions regarding:
- Surface preparation
- Application pattern
- Coverage
- Open time
- Working time
- Initial grab
- Curing time
- Temperature
- Ventilation
- Compatibility
- Cleaning
Do not assume that every construction adhesive is suitable for wall panels.
Eco Deco Australia is not responsible for the performance of independently selected third-party adhesives, except to the extent required by law.
Sealants
Use a compatible sealant where required around:
- Joints
- Corners
- Edges
- Penetrations
- Shower fittings
- Baths
- Vanities
- Floors
- Ceilings
- Trims
- Plumbing fixtures
The sealant must be suitable for the panel material, substrate and installation environment.
Sealant application and curing instructions must be followed carefully.
Incorrect or incomplete sealing may allow water to enter behind the panels.
Trims and Finishing
Customers and installers must confirm which trims are required before installation.
Depending on the product and application, trims may be required for:
- Internal corners
- External corners
- End edges
- Joining sections
- Transitions
- Decorative finishes
Not every panel system uses the same trims or installation method.
Only the trims and accessories expressly included in the customer’s order are supplied.
Acclimatisation
Where required by the manufacturer, products should be allowed to acclimatise in the installation environment before installation.
Products should not be installed while:
- Wet
- Excessively hot
- Excessively cold
- Distorted
- Damaged
- Contaminated
- Stored under unsuitable conditions
The manufacturer’s acclimatisation instructions should be followed.
Storage
Products should be stored according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Unless otherwise specified, products should generally be:
- Stored indoors
- Kept dry
- Protected from direct sunlight
- Protected from excessive heat
- Protected from impact
- Fully supported
- Kept away from chemicals
- Stored in clean conditions
Long panels must be supported to prevent bending, bowing or distortion.
Damage caused by incorrect storage after delivery or collection may not be covered by the manufacturer warranty.
Transportation and Handling
Panels may be long, heavy or vulnerable to bending and impact.
During transport, panels should be:
- Fully supported
- Properly secured
- Protected from movement
- Protected from impact
- Protected from rain and moisture
- Carried by enough people for safe handling
Do not drag panels across rough surfaces.
Customers collecting products must use a vehicle that is suitable for the length, size and weight of the products.
Cutting and Drilling
Installers must use tools that are suitable for the product material.
Before cutting or drilling:
- Confirm the measurements
- Confirm the panel orientation
- Confirm the visible face
- Check for concealed electrical wiring
- Check for concealed plumbing
- Check for gas lines
- Check for structural components
- Check for waterproofing membranes
Suitable protective equipment should be used, including eye, hearing and respiratory protection where appropriate.
Cutting should be performed in a well-ventilated area with appropriate dust-control measures.
Concealed Building Services
Before drilling, cutting or fixing into a wall, the customer or installer must identify concealed:
- Electrical wiring
- Water pipes
- Waste pipes
- Gas lines
- Data cables
- Structural framing
- Waterproofing membranes
Eco Deco Australia is not responsible for damage caused by drilling or cutting into concealed building services, except to the extent required by law.
Expansion and Movement
Where required by the manufacturer, suitable allowances must be made for:
- Expansion
- Contraction
- Building movement
- Temperature changes
- Substrate movement
Panels should not be forced tightly into an area where movement allowance is required.
The installer must follow the manufacturer’s requirements for joints, spacing and clearances.
Fire and Building Requirements
Any fire test, fire classification or certification relates to the specific product and test conditions stated in the relevant report.
The customer, builder, designer, certifier or other relevant professional must determine whether the product is suitable for:
- The class of building
- The installation location
- The intended application
- The required fire-performance provisions
- Applicable building approval requirements
A product test result does not automatically mean that the product is approved for every building or application.
Independent Installation
Unless Eco Deco Australia expressly agrees in writing to provide installation services, the customer is responsible for arranging installation.
Any installer listed, recommended or introduced by Eco Deco Australia generally operates independently.
Customers should check the installer’s:
- Experience
- Qualifications
- Licences where required
- Insurance
- Pricing
- Availability
- Installation warranty
- Proposed installation method
The installation agreement is between the customer and the independent installer.
Installation Issues
Where a problem is discovered during installation:
- Stop work on the affected area
- Do not continue installing affected products
- Retain the packaging
- Retain product labels
- Retain unused products
- Photograph the issue
- Photograph the installation area
- Record the product code and batch details
- Contact Eco Deco Australia promptly
Continuing to install a product after a visible concern has been identified may increase the damage or make the issue more difficult to assess.
This does not remove any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Products must be cleaned and maintained according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Unless expressly approved for the product, do not use:
- Abrasive pads
- Steel wool
- Sharp scrapers
- Strong solvents
- Harsh chemicals
- Bleach
- Acidic cleaners
- Highly alkaline cleaners
- Steam cleaners
- Excessive heat
Test any new cleaning product on a small, inconspicuous area before using it across the full surface.
Clean spills and contaminants promptly.
Website and Lifestyle Images
Lifestyle images are intended to demonstrate possible design applications.
The actual installed result may vary because of:
- Lighting
- Room size
- Panel layout
- Product batch
- Pattern distribution
- Screen settings
- Photography
- Image editing
- Digital rendering
Eco Deco Australia sells the wall panels, tiles, trims and accessories expressly identified in the product listing or order.
Furniture, fittings, fixtures, décor and other objects shown in lifestyle images are not included.
Manufacturer Instructions
Where the manufacturer’s instructions differ from general guidance provided in this policy, the current manufacturer instructions should be followed, subject to applicable Australian laws and building requirements.
Customers and installers should request clarification before proceeding where instructions appear inconsistent or unsuitable for the proposed application.
Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or modifies any right, remedy, consumer guarantee or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
